CNMC is a 303 bed facility with annual performance of nearly 15,000 surgeries and more than 370,000 outpatient visits in 45 specialties. In addition to general neurology, neurosurgery, and ENT services, CNMC also provides subspecialty services in neuro-oncology, epilepsy, neurofibromatosis, neuro-intensive care, fetal medicine, neurogenetics, and vascular disorders.

State of the art clinical MRI facilities include two 3T GE magnets, two 1.5T (one wide bore) GE magnets, one 1.5T Philips intraoperative magnet with HIFU, and a new 1.5T Siemens interventional MR suite. Dedicated research facilities include a Quantitative MR research lab sited within the clinical MR space, a Bioengineering laboratory with expertise in post processing, image fusion, navigation, simulation, robotics, and molecular imaging/nano-theranostics, and a 7T and 9.4T Bruker small animal imaging lab scheduled for completion in 2013.

The department has its own pediatric radiology fellowship program and most years supports a dedicated pediatric neuroradiology fellow. Visiting radiology residents and neuroradiology fellows rotate from regional programs including George Washington University Medical Center, Georgetown University, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and University Of Maryland.

Applicants must be board certified or eligible in diagnostic radiology and must have completed fellowship training in neuroradiology or in pediatric neuroradiology (preferably both), and have passed and/or be eligible for a CAQ in neuroradiology. A research track record is highly desirable. The applicant must be eligible for academic appointment at the George Washington University Medical Center. The position will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
